Leon Hiew

Leon is a Director of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. He is a Malaysian whose responsibilities include the coverage and execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia, with a focus on Malaysia.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Leon spent 7 years at Navis Capital Partners, one of the largest buyout funds focusing on Southeast Asia where his last position held was as an Investment Director. While at Navis, he oversaw deal sourcing, structuring, execution, portfolio monitoring and divestments of the fund’s private equity investments in Southeast Asia as well as Hong Kong/China, focusing on the manufacturing, entertainment, F&B, education, and grocery retail sectors.

Prior to Navis, Leon spent 3 years at Maybank Private Equity, focusing on growth capital and minority investments primarily in Southeast Asia. Leon started his career as a Research Analyst for Citigroup Singapore in their Economic and Market Analysis department where he covered macro and market analyses for Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Leon holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
